Our Plan

In early August 2013, we visited Yosemite with Rachel's family and fell madly in love the beauty of the park. This instilled in us a desire to explore more beautiful places, starting with our own home state of Washington. Because Sean and Rachel both work best with a concrete goal and because we are passionate about the preservation of our beautiful state parks, we have decided to visit every single state park in Washington!

There are approximately 137 state parks (according the Alphabetic list of Washington State Parks) that we will be visiting with the time frame of 4 years. Sean is in school for the next few years, we are both working, and many of the parks are far from we live, so we are giving ourselves a generous time frame in which to accomplish our goal. 

When we visit, we will be researching the geologic features and history of each park (depending on what information is available) and taking photos of our adventures. Even more importantly, we hope to meet and thank the volunteers and rangers whose undying passion and dedication keep these beautiful parks alive. It is because of them that we have the privilege of visiting and enjoying Washington's most beautiful protected lands.
